Hockeytown, No Limits
Hockeytown, Thanks! - Detroit Red Wings - News
Nice to see the Red Wings thank the fans. It's just great that this team isn't filled with egomaniacs. They're humble and that's awesome.
Wings' home win streak pumps up expectations | The Detroit News | detroitnews.com
To whom much is given, much is expected. Stanley Cup or bust, bitches.
Mitch Albom: 21! Red Wings make NHL history at Joe Louis Arena in win over Stars | Detroit Free Press | freep.com
Hey look at that! Mitch Albom stopped writing books and decided to pay attention to sports. That's cool. He usually only does that during championships or the Lions making the playoffs or something. Either way...dude can write.
Red Wings Break NHL Record with 21st Consecutive Home Win - DetroitHockey.Net
Game recap from Mr. Rasmussen over at DetroitHockey.net.
Red Wings set NHL record with 21 straight home wins; Steve Ott: ‘That’s a phenomenal feat’ | Puck Daddy - Yahoo! Sports
Some nice quotes from NHL mega pest Steve Ott. Plus, a look at the teams in other sports the Red Wings are now chasing for some more all-time records.
Wings' Henrik Zetterberg rediscovers his scoring prowess | The Detroit News | detroitnews.com
A real nice bonus the last few games in addition to the home win streak? Henrik Zetterberg is alive and thriving. Hank heating up and caring this team towards the playoffs? Oh hell yes.

You've just been Kronwalled.

Dallas Stars' Execution Not There, Lose To Detroit 3-1 - Defending Big D
View from the enemy.
Blues can't punch one in; lose to Blue Jackets - St. Louis Game Time
It was Valentine's Day and the Red Wings got some strong BJ play. Always nice when the Wings can win and teams chasing them in the division lose.
Henrik Lundqvist survives Zdeno Chara shot to back of head for save of year candidate (VIDEO) | Puck Daddy - Yahoo! Sports
Battle of the top two teams in the East (so a battle of the 4th and 5th best teams in the West?). The Rangers easily defeated the Bruins 3-0, but the highlight of the game -- other than my work running the score bug -- was Henrik Lundqvist's stopping a Zdeno Chara slapshot...with his head!
Trading Rick Nash - The Cannon
The Cannon takes a look at what makes the most sense when it comes to dealing their star player. I say Kenny Holland gives them Jiri Hudler and a 3rd. What do you say, Mr Howson?
HOCKEE NIGHT - The Malört of Hockey Blogs: I Don't Deserve This... Hawks 2, Preds 3
Don't look now, but the Blackhawks have lost nine (!) in a row and are three points away from being out of the playoffs. Crazy.
Tuomo Ruutu Injured; Expected to Miss Three Weeks - Canes Country
Well, Ruutu is probably off a lot of teams trade deadline wish list. Cup contenders might take a shot at him still though. The price quite possibly went down too. If the Wings could get him cheap due to the injury, it still might be worth the risk. Why not?
The latest episode of WIIM Radio featuring Travis Hughes of Broad Street Hockey is still available if you haven't downloaded it yet. Easily the best episode we've ever produced. We'll be posting a 'Podcast Update' post later today and it will feature a nice little announcement for the show. You'll want to stay tuned. You can listen to the latest podcast here or download it and all previous episodes on iTunes.
Let's Go Red Wings.

Anyone else in Chicago going to the Griffins/Wolves game tonight?
I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to get a better look at our prospects. Curious to see if anyone other than Smith and Nyquist catches the eye.
Anyone else notice just how many of those Kronwall hits happened in the last month or so?
Also, both Martin Havlat and Dany Heatley have yet to fully recover from their Kronwallings

Havlat hasn’t recovered from his last attempt at changing on the fly.

I'm feeling clinically detached this morning.
The best thing for it is a slight dose of homerism.. looks like I came to the right place. :)
Hahaha
that line came from an email a reader sent me. I thought it was awesome, so I asked if I could take it.

Ruutu and the Canes are supposedly talking an extension anyway

It would be sweet if Holland swung a trade for Nash
But I wouldn’t be able to fight the horrible feeling for whoever would be headed to Columbus.

Scott Howson wants Miller, five thousand season ticket holders and Little Caesar's Pizza to sell in the stadium
I heard it on Twitter so it must be true.

It would be awesome to get Rick Nash...
But the price is going to be insane for an in-division team. I’m betting to get him we would need a top-9 forward, a prospect or two and a first round draft pick.
WIIM Mursak League - Oregon Chumps
That's a lot of cap space for one guy
Columbus pays him a salary worthy of building a team around him…would we be able to build/have to rebuild around him? Or would we just accept the cost as what it is and hope for some insane first line synergy (Pavel + Nash + Franzen?)
