Winging It In Motown Radio Update
First and foremost, we'd like to thank our WIIM readers. Our latest podcast (Episode 13...available here!) had more downloads in the first day than any other podcast we've ever done. Through two days it's already the fourth most downloaded episode and when all is said and done will most likely be our most downloaded podcast yet. We just wanted to let everyone out there know that we appreciate everyone listening to our rants about the Wings and our inappropriate jokes and putting up with Graham's Canadian accent.
Of course, just because we've had our most successful podcast ever doesn't mean we're going to stand pat. Next week we're going to have a special guest on the podcast. None other than Puck Daddy himself Greg Wyshynski will be joining WIIM Radio to get more of a national perspective on the Red Wings, their home win streak, and some potential trade deadline targets.
Finally, Monday February 27 is the NHL trade deadline. We normally record our podcasts Sunday night and release them Monday morning. Due to the trade deadline, we're going to be recording the night of Monday February 27 and release the podast Tuesday morning. We want to be able to give you listeners our immediate reaction to whatever Ken Holland and the Red Wings do at the deadline. I still think they're going to get Paul Gaustad, but I'll warn you know, if any big name is acquired it will probably just be an hour or us sounding like little children opening badass presents on Christmas morning.
Let's Go Red Wings.

Then next week will be the first one I listen to!
No offense, but I can’t listen at work and at home I have too many distractions to pay attention to people talking in the background for a long period of time.

Trade Deadline
i don’t know if you can confirm…but i have herd rumors that the Bluejackets are listening to offers for Rick Nash…also if this is true do you think the red wings need him and if so do you think they have a shot at landing him…
Yes, they are shopping Rick Nash
And I believe last night it was reported that he gave a list of 10 teams he would willing to be traded to. However, the Wings are probably not high on the list of trade partners considering his long term salary (7.8 mil cap hit) and being a division rival.

because of the division-thing
i really don’t believe nash will come to detroit, regardless of our interest.

Just gut/want
I have zero factual evidence for this. It’s just my opinion.
He’s a big center (6’4"), good faceoff guy, real good PKer. He would be a HUGE upgrade over Emmerton as a 4th line center. Someone that can provide depth and help the specialty teams. He would only cost a 2nd/3rd round pick or maybe a late round pick and Emmerton. If the Wings make any moves at the deadline without removing a roster play, well, Emmerton most likely will be the first guy waived to make room for the new player. So you might lose him even if you don’t trade him.

Losing Emmerton would be like misplacing your library card.
Inconvenient, but you can always pick another one up for free.

hahaha
well put.. im “take ’em or leave ’em” with Emmerton.. I’d rather see for Mursak or Nyquist and lose him than anything.

Suggestion for the Deadline Radio show
Think you guys could do a MFK of Central division coaches/GM’s (discounting Babs and Ken)?
Marry Hitchcock!
Winging It In Motown, Over the Monster, Liberty Ballers, and Buffalo Rumblings!
Oh god...
I am gonna have to skip that episode.
I can’t bear to think of comments about mustache-rides from Q.

Love the podcast...
… Great insight on my favourite team but I could do without the FMK section. IMO it’s lame and a waste of time. Other than that, great work!

Oh yeah...
…are you going to ask Wysh about getting rid of Lambert?

Hadn't planned on it
I think we all know why Lambert is around.

How many people download the podcast?
Last episode was the first I ever listened to and I rather enjoyed it.

Please ask him his thoughts on pierre McGuire
I’m pretty sure he can’t stand him as much as any one else.
