Nash, Carter wearing Red!?
We all have heard Jeff Carter is not happy in Columbus. Now the word is getting around that Rick Nash is more than ever wanting out, without directly asking to get out.
More than likely, the asking price for Nash is through the roof. Carter may be much easier to grab with his 'bad attitude." I have read that he is a gamble with that attitude, but the right place and happiness he can thrive.
What do the think asking prices are? As Wing fans...what would we give up? What should we give up?
I would love to see either one wearing our loved wheel. I think it would cost way too much that the Red Wings SHOULD NOT lose, but I am not Mr. Holland. And landing Rick Nash would be incredible.

For Jeff Carter?
I’ll give you a bug zapper and some bent bottlecaps.
For Rick Nash?
Honestly no idea if there’s a deal in there that makes a lot of sense for both teams.

I’d at least look into Carter and not totally write him off because of a ‘bad attitude’.. Listen, if you were (in less words) basically promised to remain a Flyer and signed an 11-year contract to remain there and then were traded with your nearly-immovable contract to the worst team in the league, you’d have a bad attitude too, lol…

His contract blows
I don’t even care about his attitude when looking at that assbag of a deal.
Pierre McGuire is a blithering dimwit.
Not really. $5.2 million cap hit for 10 years. The cap hit is fair for him, although it may be a bit high in the last 2 years when he is 36 and 37. Either way, it’s relatively low considering the market and how good of a player he is when he’s happy. I can only think of three players who have ever been upset playing for the Wings: Hudler, Fedorov (who wouldn’t be happy regardless of the situation), and CuJo (who had every right to be upset). Carter wouldn’t be a bad pickup in my eyes, although I would infinitely prefer Nash. Of course, Nash will also be incredibly more expensive.

Nash... great
Carter… ehh, don’t think he’d mesh on the Wings.
For Nash the Wings would have to give up Kindl or Smith, preferably Kindl. Also one or two other forward prospects and draft picks, and maybe Hudler.
I think Franzen & Filppula would be an overpayment, since Flip still has another year on his deal.

True. I only threw him in there because of the recent love for Hudler and the fact that he’s going to have a career year in term of goals and possibly points.

which means he'll probably want more than he's making now on his next contract
Resign him low now or trade him to the highest bidder!
For Nasher, I'd give up...
Hudler
Kindl
1st round pick
2nd round pick
