Flip helped Z and Z helped Flip. You want Franzen to help Pav and vice versa? You know who helped Pav? Nyquist did.
Wings rookie Gustav Nyquist making most of chance | The Detroit News | detroitnews.com
Hard to make the most of anything when you get five freaking minutes of ice time with Emmerton (no offense to him...but he's no Datsyuk. Hell, he's not even Bertuzzi).
Jamie Samuelsen's blog: The keys to a successful Red Wings playoff run are ... | Detroit Free Press | freep.com
Keys to the playoffs? 1) No one else gets hurt. 2) Get Conklin as far away from the net as possible. Hell, send him back to Alaska. 3) Play Brendan Smith. 4) Avoid losing teams like the Blue Jackets, Canadiens, Islanders, and Maple Leafs. 5) Play every game at the Joe. If the Wings do those things, well, they should win the Cup then.

Is it time to change NHL playoff seeding? | Detroit Free Press | freep.com
Interesting question. Why not guarantee the division winners a playoff spot but not necessarily home ice and a top three seed? That way instead of Det/Nsh and Pit/Phi in round one. You have 1) Blues, 2) Canucks, 3) Red Wings, 4) Predators, etc. In the East you get 1) Rangers, 2) Penguins, 3) Flyers, etc. Winning the division will make sure you get in the top eight, but you have to not suck ass if you want home ice. The best teams should get the best seeds, no? Don't punish teams for being in tougher divisions. Otherwise, like this season, you'll have a top three or four team in the conference guaranteed to be gone in the first round.

Looking good, Nose Face. Pretty cool charity done by the Bruins. Can you imagine Hank cutting off his hair? Flip losing his blonde locks? Eaves bald?
