Quincey Faces Hearing for Elbowing Major
Kyle Quincey will have a talk with the NHL Department of Player Safety for the elbowing major he received on Sunday when he appeared to jump into a hit in which he elbowed Florida's Tomas Kopecky in the head. While a hearing doesn't guarantee a suspension, it does lay the groundwork for one. No confirmation yet either way, but I believe this is a phone hearing, which would mean a suspension of fewer than five games, since a player has a right to an in-person hearing for punishments over that amount. We'll update you with the results of the hearing when we know. In the meantime, you can view a replay of the hit at Puck Daddy.
