As we go on, we remember, all the good saves, Howard had!
So we are a few weeks into the season and the Olympics are start on February 7 so I thought it might be a good time to see how the leading candidates for Team USA goaltender are doing. I would do the same thing for Canada, but I don't care about them.
According to NHL.com here are how american born goalies are doing:

So... Ben Bishop for Team USA Starter!
Quick has played a ton of hockey so far, and his numbers aren't too bad. He is 5th in GAA (Al Montoya is out) and 7th in save %. So really the only thing he has going for him is his TOI. He is a bum and whoever has him in our fantasy hockey league should trade him to me ASAP.
Anderson is 3rd in wins but has 2 overtime loses to go with it, and his stat line is pretty snazzy. He is 3rd in GAA and 1st in save %. If I had to guess now, I would say he is going to be Team USA's starter assuming he can stay healthy.
1 win in 6 starts. Is that real? HAHAHAHAHA. Sorry... The wins column is clearly a team stat, because he is 1st overall in GAA (2.14 is actually reallllllly good) and 3rd in save %. New Jersey just can't score. Hope he likes it there for the next 2 years.
6 wins in 7 starts ain't bad for living in Florida (it is a hell of a lot better than another Florida goalie on the list). Bishop is 2nd in GAA and Save %. If he can keep this up he could be a solid option for Sochi.
The season hasn't gone as Howard has planned so far (small sample size is what we have to work with). Only 3 wins in 8 starts and 4th in GAA with a save percentage of 0.914 good for 5th. I hate to say it, but he isn't going to Sochi if the Olympics started tomorrow.
As things stand right now I would bring Craig Anderson as my starter with Quick and Schneider as backups. Now please excuse me while I go vomit.
