To Whomever It Concerns in the NHL,
Once again, after vowing to never do it again, I have foolishly signed up for and paid $150.00 for NHL Gamecenter service so I can occasionally watch my favorite team, the Detroit Red Wings. I cancelled my account last season after I learned that NOT ONE of the play-off games were going to be broadcast on the Gamecenter service. You see, I am one of those people that apparently doesn't exist in the mind of NHL executives as I do not have a subscription to cable television and I don't get ANY channels on my Television. Not Fox Sports Detroit, not NBC Sports, etc and the Only way that I am going to get to watch my team play hockey is thru a paid subscription to services like NHL Gamecenter. Of course there are plenty of free illegal online streams of the games that anyone can find with a simple search. When consumers cannot get the services they need through normal channels, they are forced to resort to the black market.
While I am fully aware of the utterly ridiculous "blackouts" and "out of market games"(these are of course ridiculous terms, coined by corporate bean counters") we are three games into the season and I have not been able to watch one single game on Gamecenter that I paid for because these games have supposedly been broadcast in my area on a channel that I don't and will not get.
Once again, the NHL has chosen to side with the easy money and keeping their corporate accounts and big Television Contracts happy at the expense of their true revenue sources; we the fans.
Is it really asking too much to let me watch my favorite team play the game I love on a service that I paid a lot of money for? I want to be able to watch EVERY fucking game in my iPad or my smart phone and not have to have a cable tv subscription! And, I want to watch the fucking playoffs too, assclowns!
Or maybe I will just have to take my money elsewhere. And those free streams from Russia don't have any blackouts or out of market games,
