The Red Wings certainly passed the test in this game, needing to prove that they weren't as bad against a contender as the season opener indicated. Two power play goals and some curly fries courtesy our Swedish ball-pushing captain on a fantastic effort won it for the Wings.

Can't wait to see all the whining. Bottom line: Backes is a donkey and that was a late dirty hit. No way there's a suspension, but it's a complete non-issue if Backes doesn't blast a guy a full beat after the pass.
