Don McPeak-US PRESSWIRE

WHEN: May 1, 2009 - Game 1, Western Conference Semifinals

WHERE: Joe Louis Arena, Detroit, MI

WHAT: The Ducks are in town so we might as well look back at a moment in the rivalry between these two teams. Remember back in the spring of 2009 when Jonathan Ericsson burst into the scene as a competent defenseman in the playoffs and got everyone excited for his play in the future? One of the highlights from that playoff run was the memorable 7 game series with Anaheim. With the game tied at 1 in the 2nd period of Game 1, Corey Perry gives Chris Osgood a late tap on the pads, in the ensuing scrum Perry's stick gets a little high into Ericsson's face and Big Rig needs to protect his pretty face, of course. He takes Perry down and swings him around like a rag doll. It's always good to see Perry get taken down. It would be nice to see Ericsson show some more aggression like this every once in a while, ultimately a job well done by the big man wearing #52.
