...is stupid. OK that might be harsh, but I'm getting tired of it. I'll admit that I was guilty of this for a while. He's a serviceable 20 goal guy. He's scrappy in the corners. He hustles for the most part, and he's not afraid to go to the net.

The problem is, he screws everything up. Datsyuk sends him jewels all day long, passes to perfection right on his tape, and he doesn't know what to do with them. He fires the weakly at the net, or flubs the pass and loses it. He puts a shot wide, or right into a goalies stomach. He delays with the puck until he's out of options. He shoots when he should pass, passes when he should shoot.

Some of you will point out that his stats aren't so bad lately. Decent amount of shots per game, good Corsi numbers, and even some goals lately. I submit to you that he is a blind squirrel, and he's finding a few more nuts of late because Datsyuk is putting so many in front of him. I'll agree that Abby on the other side is making Cleary look 'good' by comparison, but it is just oh so painful to watch him squander that many opportunities alongside one of the greatest puck distributors of ours or any time. Have you noticed how much more Datsyuk is shooting this season? How often he lugs it into the zone himself and takes a harmless shot often deflected out of play? It's because he has to do it all himself. And he knows it. And it's depressing.
