Moments before sitting down to write this, I found out about the Zetterberg news.
According to an article by the Swedish newspaper Expressen, if surgery is needed, Zetterberg will miss up to two months. For a team fighting for a playoff spot, this is the worst possible news.
Continue to check back for more updates.
That said, we now shift our focus to today's 2nd pair of games.
Canada vs. Austria
For most people, the big game of the day is this one. Puck drop is at noon EST.
With a win today, Canada can effectively clinch Group B. Although, who wouldn't love seeing Finland steal the top seed from the Canadians on Sunday? I certainly would.
Canada is coming off a solid, yet shaky, 3-1 victory over Norway. Their opponents, Austria, are coming off a 8-4 defeat at the hands of the Finns.
With that in mind, Canada should enjoy a comfortable victory.
Then again, that's what we all said prior to the Norway game...
Norway vs. Finland
Speaking of Norway, they take on Finland in the second game of this doubleheader. As with the Canada game, puck drop is at noon EST.
I don't expect anything less than a Finland victory in this one.
Let's Go Finland & Austria (cause boo Canada)!
