Sens Blog: Silver Seven

This is going to be a sluggish team against a rusty team. The Red Wings are playing the second game of a back-to-back and the Senators are playing their first game since getting embarrassed by the Bruins 7-2 on February 8. So what does this mean?

Probably absolutely nothing.

The Sens, well, they like to score. They're pretty decent on the power play too. Jonas Gustavsson is going to get the start tonight. He'll have some work to do. With that said, he actually has some respectable numbers against the division foe. Other than scoring, the Senators really like to give up goals. They're near the bottom of the league in goals allowed. This probably won't be an issue against the Red Wings, who will likely find ways not to score.

One way I expect the Wings not to score is by playing Daniel Cleary. You see, according to Khan(!), the best coach in hockey, Mike Babcock, is going to make some lineup changes tonight due to the back-to-back situation. By "line changes," I hope what Babcock really means is swapping Joakim Andersson for Luke Glendening. What "line changes" will probably mean is Cleary on the 1st line. Now that I'm done talking in extremes and scaring you all, check back for the mid-day updates here at WIIM to get the full story on the lineup (shameless plug)!

X-Factor: Jared Cowen's elbow.

Familiar Faces: Paul MacLean.

Thumbs up (One Thing to Like About Ottawa): They like Alfie too.

Thumbs down (One Thing to Dislike About Ottawa): It's in Canada.

Bullets of Knowledge
