Okay, so we all know Crybaby Crosby had an exceptional season and everyone is saying he is going to win the Hart this year, hands down.
My argument is that why should he win if he didn't do anything in the playoffs when a team needs their respected MVP more than ever, much like how Henrik Lundqvist and Carey Price are the MVPs of their teams and carrying them on their backs.
You could argue that Crosby's lack of production could add to his value of winning because his team lost when he didn't do anything to help. Following Ray Shero's removal in Pittsburgh we know that it wasn't all about Crosby not producing in the playoffs, but starts up top and works it's way down to secondary scoring and goal-tending.
My pick for the Hart is Getzlaf, he's been fantastic this year, plays in all situations and set a career high in goals (31) He was 13th overall in +/-, 2nd in the league for forwards in blocked shots and what I think is most impressive scored more 5 on 5 (26 goals) more than Crosby and Giroux.
Personally I don't think any player should win hands down just because he has the most points and yes I don't really like Crosby either so I may just not want him to win it for that sole reason.
Anyways what do you think?
