This will totally solve all the Red Wings problems forever and is totally feasible except for those pesky NTC's and reality getting in the way.
Step 1: Trade Franzen, Kindl and maybe a pick for next year to Buffalo for Tyler Myers.
Step 2: Sign Matt Niskanen to a X year, $5 million per year contract
Here are your lines. LW, C and RW
1) Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Abdelkader (Two Pianists and a Piano Mover Line)
2) Nyquist, Weiss, Tatar (Euro Twins Mark II Plus a Yank)
3) Miller, Helm, Jurco ("We needed SOMEONE who could score on this line" Line)
Your Defensive Pairings (LD, RD)
1) Kronwall, Tyler
2) Ericsson, Niskanen
3) Smith, DeKeyser
Lashoff is your #7
Notes: I'm not terribly thrilled about "demoting" DeKeyser either, but I think the Smith/DDK line is strong enough that if one of the higher up pairings needed a rest, maybe after a long PP chance, that Smith/DDK could eat up those minutes. Or you can pull back on minutes for the Top 4 and keep everyone a bit more rested and energized.
The 4th line you could have an All Centers Line with Andersson, Gleandening and Sheahan. However, you do have about 6 million in cap space still available with this plan, so you could go after Alfredsson or Iginla or Hemsky. If I had to scoot someone from the bottom 3, I'd honestly try to find someone to give me something for Andersson. I think he just gets pushed out by Sheahan and (ugh) Gleandening, much like Emmerton did.
There you have it, your 2015 Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings
