Free agent Jarome Iginla would make an excellent addition to the Red Wings | Detroit Free Press | freep.com
If Daniel Alfredsson chooses to retire, I would not mind the Wings pursuing Iglina. But if Alfie plays another season, I feel that signing Iginla is a bit repetitive. Plus, their combined cap hits would probably exceed $8 million.
If anyone of our FA forwards were to be re-signed, outside of Alfredsson, it would be Bertuzzi. That said, he is not being re-signed.
But signing an extension would make nervous Red Wings fans sleep easier at night. What do you want more Babs, happy fans or a bit of leverage?

Report: Bruins will be ‘very active’ in trade market | ProHockeyTalk
I would not mind Dennis Seidenberg on the Wings. We can afford him, and he is still a pretty good defenseman. I am not as keen on Johnny Boychuk.
Hopefully they do not.

Flames reach out to Panthers about first pick | ProHockeyTalk
The Flames currently hold the 4th pick in the draft. This is not a large drop for the Panthers, assuming that they get a hefty return on their trade.
