Quincey Faces Hearing for Elbowing Major

15

Kyle Quincey will have a talk with the NHL Department of Player Safety for the elbowing major he received on Sunday when he appeared to jump into a hit in which he elbowed Florida's Tomas Kopecky in the head. While a hearing doesn't guarantee a suspension, it does lay the groundwork for one. No confirmation yet either way, but I believe this is a phone hearing, which would mean a suspension of fewer than five games, since a player has a right to an in-person hearing for punishments over that amount. We'll update you with the results of the hearing when we know. In the meantime, you can view a replay of the hit at Puck Daddy.

Fair enough, let's talk in April. - Dallas Stars fan iHorses.

From 'The Week Ahead' post by Graham done in early November, when the Stars were atop the NHL and we had the gall to call the Red Wings a better team than the Stars, despite a 15-game sample size based on points which told short-sighted idiots otherwise. Well, iHorses, we're here now. Would you like to talk?

Last Night's Committed Indian Q&A

18

For those unfamiliar with the Committed Indian, it's a fan newsletter that Sam over at Second City Hockey runs prior to each Hawks' home game. They usually do a Q&A with an enemy blogger. This being the last Hawks home game against the Blues, Sam asked for my help with Gallagher from St. Louis Game time. I had fun with the results. Give it a read.
