First, the confirmation:
The Red Wings will recall Gustav Nyquist from Grand Rapids for tomorrow’s game.

And this:
For now, the Wings recalled Trevor Parkes to maximize their cap space for LTIR purposes. He’ll be sent down when Nyquist is recalled.

I’ll let someone else with better understanding of it explain the salary cap business behind this move, but suffice it to say that Gustav Nyquist will be a Detroit Red Wing tomorrow. Trevor Parkes has been called up presumably since he won’t play in Grand Rapids’ game tonight against the Milwaukee Admirals. Nyquist can play tonight for Grand Rapids and for Detroit tomorrow when they host the Carolina Hurricanes.
I’ll be really interested to see what the roster looks like when everyone is finally healthy. With Nyquist’s waiver exemption expiring after he plays two more NHL games, sending him back down if he plays again on Saturday against Ottawa will be nearly impossible; teams didn’t bite on Jordin Tootoo or Patrick Eaves, but I would bet what little money I have that Nyquist would be claimed if he were put on waivers. For now, everyone’s favorite prospect at the moment will be getting into his first NHL game this season.
