Diary Tips & Rules
1) You must create an account (which you can do to your right) in order to write a diary post.
2) Please keep the diary posts on only the Detroit Red Wings, NHL, or other important hockey events. Please refrain from posts on political, religious, or current event topics as this is a Detroit Red Wings blog.
3) Be courteous when writing your post. Don't insult another reader. No adult content and please don't swear up a storm as I want to keep this a friendly environment for all readers.
4) Do not use the diary posts as a way to advertise your website or weblog. If you do have a blog/website, feel free to link to it at the bottom of your post. However, your post should have a purpose other than that of promoting your website.
5) I ask that your diary posts are at least 250 words. The longer, the better.
6) Try to post no more than two diaries a day, as we want to encourage a variety of readers to post diaries instead of just one person.
Unfortunately if I find you repeatedly abusing these rules, I will have to remove/block your account so please don't make me have to do that!
Tips for writing
1) You can write about anything related to the Red Wings, NHL, or other hockey news. Try to refrain from just reporting facts or quotes. We want to hear your opinion so please share it with us!
2) Be creative! I will try to ask questions to prompt diary posts, but feel free to come up with your own topics. When I find solid dairy posts, I will link to them from my main page so don't be afraid to take chances.
3) You can use some basic HTML code when you go to write your diaries. Here are some of the basic codes, but please remove any ---- you see in the code below (I have to put those for the code to show up instead of actually performing the action.)
Bold = <-b->Text you want bolded<-/--b-->
Italics = <-i->Text you want italicized<-/--i-->
Underline = <-u->Text you want underlined<-/--u-->
Link = <-a href="URL of website">Text you want pointing towards the link<-/--a-->
Blockquote = <-blockquote->Quote or text you want in the blockquote.<-/--blockquote-->
Be sure to properly cite where you got the information from by linking to the article or blog post!
Photos = <-img src="URL of photo">
Be sure to properly cite where you got the photo from!
4) To go to the next line in your post, just hit enter. If you want a blank line in between paragraphs, hit the enter button twice.
Good luck with your diary posts!
