I got an interesting email today with a press release informing me that within the next 10 days, a group of NHL hockey players will be wearing ThermaBlade skates during their games. ThermaBlade skates consist of heated skate blades that act as "mini zambonis" to enhance performance on the ice. These skates allow the players to increase acceleration, increase control, and allow them to make tighter turns on the ice.

Perhaps the biggest announcement of the day was the fact that there is a list of NHL players interested in testing out the blade, and that when we see the first blades start to appear (in a test phase) during NHL games in the next ten days, we'll be watching NHL history be made.
