Wings 5, Flames 3

The Detroit Red Wings won their third straight game over Calgary this season with a 5-3 victory last night in front of a crowd of 17,108.

The Flames were able to get on the board first with a goal by Robyn Regehr, but Pavel Datsyuk scored his first of two goals in the first to tie the game up. It was a beauty of a goal and NHL named it the Goal of the Night.

"That was an amazing move on that first goal," Calgary forward Jarome Iginla said. "To make a move like that, and score just under the crossbar, has to be a big boost for the team and for their fans."

Datsyuk then scored the game winning goal just 37 seconds into the final period. He finished the game with two goals and an assist, yet didn't feel that he played too well.

Today, I'm not feeling energetic," he said. "Today, I went strong (to the net), not more dancing."

Told of his comments, Lidstrom laughed.

"I'd like to see what he could do when he's feeling good, then," he said. "He's amazing out there."

Kris Draper scored his sixth goal of the season in the first to give the Wings a temporary lead at that time. He later had to leave the game with a sprained knee, but was able to drive himself to the DMC (the nearest hospital) for an MRI. He is expected to miss 10-14 days due to the sprain.

"I'm just going to rest for a couple of days, 24-48 hours, see how swollen it gets; right now it's not too bad," Draper said. "From there, hopefully, we can start working out, rehabbing it and making sure it's nice and strong."

Unfortunately, fellow PK killer Kirk Maltby missed practice today from a sore shoulder and may not play tomorrow night.
