GDT: Wings vs. Predators

Game #1 of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the Detroit Red Wings starts tonight at 7pm. The game will be on Versus as well as FSN Detroit.

Dominik Hasek will be the starting netminder during the playoffs.

Mikael Samuelsson, Kris Draper, and Brad Stuart are expected to return to the lineup for today's game. Kirk Maltby will remain out with a pulled hamstring. It is believed that Darren McCarty will be in the lineup, but Aaron Downey may take his spot (one or the other will be a healthy scratch).

This should be a gritty series, but I think the Wings will win in five games.

Go Wings!

Standard stuff from the Wings

They dominated Nashville, but couldn't put them away.

Still, I don't think that Ellis/Mason are really "shutdown" goalie types. Sure, they might steal a game, but they're not going to steal a series.

I'm thinking Wings in 5. At least the travel to Nashville isn't that bad. Oh, to be in the East, where every game is in the same time zone.
