We had one of our great artist friends draw up a cartoon summarizing the CBA negotiations. I think she captured it perfectly.

The idea that player salaries have gotten out of hand, even with cap-circumventing contracts, is a complete lie. No matter what happens, player spending is hard-capped every year; the problem is in how much of that spending burden is shared.

The NHL's initial demands in the CBA negotiations are very strong.
