The Detroit Red Wings (11-2-1) face Central Division opponents the Nashville Predators (7-7-0) tonight for the first time this season. The game starts at 7:30pm and will be shown on FSN. The Wings have won the last seven games and hope that after a six day break, they will be able to lengthen this streak to eight games. Nashville has won the last three games and five of the last six games.
Chris Osgood will be in net with Dominik Hasek returning from his irritated hip injury for Friday's home game against Columbus. Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall remains out with a groin injury so Derek Meech will fill in that extra spot on the roster.
Bruce MacLeod, the beat reporter for Macomb Daily, speculates that Jiri Hudler and Tomas Kopecky will be healthy scratches tonight allowing for Matt Ellis and Aaron Downey to see some ice time tonight.
Jiri Hudler worked on with the first and second lines on drills. With Johan Franzen working in on the second power-play unit at practice again, there's a possibility that Hudler could be scratched.
Tomas Kopecky worked in with the fourth line. Dallas Drake, Matt Ellis and Aaron Downey started all drills as the fourth line for the third straight practice.
