The Detroit Red Wings (26-7-3) play their first of three games in four days tonight against the St. Louis Blues (18-12-3). Instead of flying out the night before a game, the team was allowed to spend Christmas evening home with family and friends. They are flying into St. Louis today, which will make it a little tougher on the team since they haven't hit the ice since their game against Minnesota on Saturday.
"It's a tough one," goalie Chris Osgood said. "It's a tough trip. Especially coming after the break like that."
Osgood will get the start in goal. Due to injuries, the Wings will miss Henrik Zetterberg (back), Tomas Holmstrom (knee), and Kirk Maltby (back) for this three game road trip. As a result, Mark Hartigan has been called up from Grand Rapids.
The game will be shown at 8:30pm. Go Wings!
