Recap: Wings 0, Blues 2

The Detroit Red Wings ended 2007 on a sour note with their first shutout loss at home since January 7, 2004 against Boston and it was their first loss in regulation since November 22nd. Two Central Division teams, Chicago and St. Louis, have given Detroit trouble this season. The Wings are 0-4 against Chicago and 2-3 against St. Louis. The Blues second goal last night was an empty netter with just over 21 seconds left in the game.

"We had no juice left in the tank, it was pretty obvious," coach Mike Babcock said. "We didn't have any jump. But give (the Blues) credit. They played good, they competed hard and won most of the races (to the puck). We were worried about (a sluggish effort) coming back from the trip."

WIM favorite Aaron Downey got into a fight with Blues defenseman Daniel Walker and got a couple good left punches in. As soon as a clip of the fight is put up on YouTube, I'll post it here.
