In what is easily the biggest NHL game of the week, the No. 1 Western Conference team takes on the No. 1 Eastern Conference team tonight at 7pm. The game will be shown on both FSN Detroit and CBC. In addition, there will be a ceremonial puck drop tonight by none other than Steve Yzerman as he was inducted into Ottawa's Sports Hall of Fame earlier today. Both TV stations should show at least a clip of the puck drop, if they don't happen to show it live.
Detroit (33-8-4) may be without Henrik Zetterberg, who came down with the flu yesterday and couldn't practice this morning. Head coach Mike Babcock hopes he'll be able to play tonight, but it has yet to be determined. If Hank can't play, either Aaron Downey or Matt Ellis will be inserted into the lineup.
Dominik Hasek will get the start in net in his first game back in Ottawa. Right after the lockout, Hasek played for the Senators. He had a great season until he injured his groin in February and then didn't return for the rest of the season. So Sens fans don't have the best opinion of Hasek so hopefully he'll play well tonight and prove them wrong. Ottawa (28-10-4) will start Ray Emery in net tonight.
The last time these two teams faced one another in Ottawa was back in October 2003.
