[Game Thread] Wings vs. Penguins

Tonight's game is the one that many Wings and Penguins fans had marked off on their calendar since the schedule was released. I, for one, cannot wait to be at the Joe for the game and while there may be some tension, it will most certainly be a closely contested game. Not only are the fans looking forward to this game moreso than normal, but the players have admitted that they want to win this game maybe a little more than some others this season.

“We had a good battle last year, and it’s the first game now, so it’s going to be fun,” Henrik Zetterberg said. “It’s a good team, and I think both of us want to win a little extra. It was a great final."

Hossa joined the Wings in July after spurning an offer from the Penguins.

"I didn't really know until the last two weeks, when I check the schedule," Hossa said. "There are lots of people I know there, a couple of good friends, so it's going to be real interesting."

Chris Osgood will get the start in goal and Johan Franzen is hopefully going to return after missing five games due to a sprained knee (I still can't believe it was only five games).

While I will be at the game, please feel free to comment on the action in the thread below or head over to fellow SBN blog, PensBurgh, where Frank will be covering the action from the opposing side. The game starts at 7pm and will be shown on Versus.
