The Detroit Red Wings (51-20-6) host the St. Louis Blues (30-34-12) for the final time this season. The two teams played on Tuesday ending in a 2-1 Detroit victory.
Detroit should see the return of crowd favorite Darren McCarty tonight as his rib injury has finally healed. I wouldn't expect him to get a ton of playing time, it's just nice to have another experienced forward in case (knock on wood) someone goes down with another fricking injury.
Dallas Drake (chest) and Valtteri Filppula (knee/groin) practiced yesterday. Filppula has the okay to play tomorrow, while Drake still needs the trainers' approval so I guess we'll find out this evening if he is allowed to play.
Dominik Hasek did not skate yesterday so it looks like he is still battling the flu bug. Brad Stuart was at the Joe yesterday, but will not resume skating after suffering his broken finger injury until today. Tomas Holmstrom did some skating before the team practice yesterday, but he won't play this week.
The game starts at 7:30pm and will be shown on the NHL Network (US) and FSN Detroit. Go Wings!
