Recap: Wings 2, Preds 1 (OT)

I'd like to apologize for posting no recap after Game #4 or a GDT for Game #5. I've been practically living at Joe Louis Arena or studying for finals all week, which makes it a bit hard to find time to post here.

My dad sat in the 2nd row by the zamboni pit for last night's big 2-1 overtime win and you can check out his photos here.

Nashville's goaltender Dan Ellis had the game of his life stopping 52 shots in regulation including the shot by Dan Cleary shown below. He only faced one shot in overtime, Johan Franzen's breakaway goal from a feed by Niklas Kronwall.

Detroit dominated this game in every way except for the scoreboard and had Nashville found a way to win the game in overtime, it would have been a serious blow to morale and I doubt Detroit would've won the series. However, the team kept their composure heading into overtime and were able to finish it rather quickly.

Game #6 is Sunday at 3pm (EST). Go Wings!
