The Detroit Red Wings (31-8-6) head into Jobing.com arena tonight to complete their five-game road trip that swung through the Pacific Division before the All-Star Break. While the Wings have won 10 straight against the Phoenix Coyotes (23-19-5), this is not the same team we've gotten used to over the past few years. As of Monday evening, the Coyotes sit in sixth place in the Western Conference standings.
Johan Franzen will not play tonight due to a strained hip that kept him out for most of the third period against San Jose on Saturday night.
"It's not a sharp pain, so a step in the right direction," Franzen said after receiving treatment.
Tuesday's game is not only the end of a five-game, 11-day trip, it is also the Wings' last one before the All-Star break.
"The break comes good here," Franzen said. "I don't think we'll be having any problems after that. It should take care of it."
Defenseman Brett Lebda will be a healthy scratch so that Chris Chelios can make it into the lineup. I am guessing that Ty Conklin will get the start in net since Ozzie played on Saturday, but who knows.
The game starts at 9 p.m. and will be shown on FSDetroit. Go Wings!
