After a rough 5-3 loss to the Calgary Flames last night, the Detroit Red Wings (48-16-9) hope to split their back-to-back game road trip in Alberta against the Edmonton Oilers (35-28-9) later tonight.
Should Henrik Zetterberg post a goal tonight, he will become the fourth Red Wing this season to tally 30 goals. Last night, Pavel Datsyuk reach the 30-goal mark and forwards Marian Hossa and Johan Franzen have already hit that plateau as well. The last time Detroit had four 30-plus goal scorers was during the 2001-02 Stanley Cup winning season (Brett Hull, Sergei Fedorov, Brendan Shanahan and Luc Robitaille). The Philadelphia Flyers are the only team this year that have a shot of having four 30-goal scorers.
Andreas Lilja remains out with concussion-like symptoms as he is still suffering headaches resulting from a punch to the head in a fight about 3.5 weeks ago. Forward Tomas Holmstrom may play tonight, but that won't be determined until right before game time.
Ty Conklin will get the start in goal tonight.
The game starts at 9:30 p.m. and will be shown on FSDetroit. Go Wings!
