[Game Thread] Game 4: Detroit @ Columbus

Detroit leads series 3-0

Detroit looks to make quick work of the Blue Jackets tonight with a 4 game series win. But don't expect the Blue Jackets to roll belly up just yet. Columbus played the third period of Game 3 with a marked increase in intensity and desire. Finally solving Osgood with under 4 minutes to play, the Blue Jackets could take some of that confidence into Game 4.

The Wings benefited from a goal 67 seconds in by Tomas Holmstrom, forcing the Blue Jackets to play from behind the entire game. The Wings played a highly physical game in front of the high energy crowd at Nationwide Arena, witnessing their first home playoff game. Detroit was outshot by Columbus 32-26 but still had the edge in goals. The Cleary-Zetterberg-Franzen line showed strength with 3 goals, one to Cleary and 2 to Zetterberg.

Detroit holds the series edge in goals scored 12-2 and has scored 4 goals every game while limiting Columbus' numbers with strong play by Chris Osgood.

What to look for: It's not over til its over, but things are looking pretty grim for the Blue Jackets. Look for Babcock to keep the Wings on the attack and close this series out in 4 to get as much rest as possible for Round 2. If Chris Osgood stays strong in net in a seemingly decided series, he could keep his momentum rolling for the rest of the playoffs. From Columbus, once again just look for any sort of offense and an effort to salvage a game.

Game 4 starts at 7 p.m. and will be aired on TSN, FS-D, or FS-Ohio--depending on your location.
