Detroit leads series 3-2.
Following a 6-3 win in Game 4, the Red Wings stayed on track offensively and tallied four goals in a win on Sunday. That win put the Ducks at risk of elimination heading into tonight's game.
The Ducks have relied a lot on Jonas Hiller in net and he has been nothing short of spectacular. Fortunately, if you're a Wings fan, his heroics have been unable to keep up with the offense's lack of production. If the Wings can continue to play puck possession hockey and get the shot advantage, the Ducks have little else to help Hiller out. Detroit ranks first in the playoffs in shots for (40) and second in shots against (29), a big reason for the series lead over Hiller and the Ducks.
What to look for: Look for Detroit to continue calling upon Johan "The Mule" Franzen to produce as he has done all playoffs long. Franzen has 13 points in 9 games played (7 goals and 6 helpers) Pavel Datsyuk is also starting to pick up his offensive game since being reunited with Zetterberg and Holmstrom. The Ducks will look to get anything going on offense in order to avoid elimination. Look for them to call on Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry. Perry has been dangerous all series and along with Getzlaf is the major force in a Ducks offense that is declining in potency.
Game starts at 10 p.m. ET and will be shown on Versus and FS-D and as always, GO WINGS!
