The Defending Stanley Cup Champion (and current dead last in the division) Chicago Blackhawks take on our Detroit Red Wings tonight for the second of six meetings this season. If you'll recall, the last time these two teams played, the Hawks were basking in the glow of their first Stanley Cup in 49 years, while the Wings took out their frustration at having to listen to U2 being played on the cello by beating the Hawks in their banner-raising ceremony.

The Hawks are banged up, and they'll be without Marian Hossa, Viktor Stalberg and Patrick Kane. I know I dabbed away a tear at reading the first and third names, but the Wings are going to have put on their brave faces and go out there. Despite the injuries, the Hawks still have talent, and they will be looking to get 2 points on home ice to get themselves back in the race since they currently sit dead last in the division and outside the playoff picture, despite having played the second-most games in the conference. They also dislike the Wings as much as their fans do, so expect a tight game.

Per the Freep, Kris Draper is out and Drew Miller is back in for the Wings. Jimmy Howard gets the start in goal as Chris Osgood is being saved so he can go for win number 400 at home against the Stars on Sunday (h/t to WiiM reader Josh H for the link).

The game is on NHL Network, so if you're outside Detroit and Chicago, that's likely where you're going to get the game. I'll be listening to Ed Olczyk and playing the Edzo drinking game. It's Chris Chelios Night at the United Center, and here's to hoping the UC crowd gives the man his proper due for playing his guts out for that franchise during some pretty dark times. As always, keep it classy!
