The Wings head to St. Louis on the heels of a costly overtime victory against the Canucks. Pavel Datsyuk will miss his first of many games after suffering a broken hand. The Blues are no strangers to bad luck in the injury department, skating without Oshie, McDonald, and Perron, which the fine fellas at SB Nation (little) sister blog St. Louis Game time will remind you is the worst thing that's happened to any team ever. I mean, they lost an entire second line! Wait.. those are first liners? Seriously? Ah... well now we see where the inferiority complex comes from.

Kris Draper skates tonight as the Datsyuk injury effectively ends the sit-out rotation that Babcock had been employing up until now. Losing a center gives Babcock fewer options about what to do with Filppula and Zetterberg. Flip played Wing on a few shifts last night as necessity ordered, but he'll be the pivot-guy for sure tonight.

Here are the lines, per Khan:

Franzen-Zetterberg-Holmstrom
Cleary-Filppula-Bertuzzi
Hudler-Abdelkader-Miller
Draper-Helm-Eaves

Osgood is in net tonight with chance #2 for win 400. Ok, actually it's more like chance #25, but it's only the second game since he won number 399. Babs gave him his chance to win in front of the supportive home crowd and he couldn't. Maybe the St. Louis crowd that gave him a good razzing in their building last November 28th (a game in which he didn't play, that the Wings won in a shootout) will get him to that milestone.

Join us for the last Wings game before Christmas. Comment away!
