If you remember from Kyle's prospect post earlier in the season interviewing Green Bay Gambler Nick Jensen, the Red Wings have a bit of a presence in the USHL. The USHL is an under 20 hockey league in the US that allows players to prepare for either college or a professional league such as the AHL or NHL.

As an amateur league, a lot of the players go on to play in college afterward (such as Jensen and St. Cloud State) and the league has produced some of the Red Wings players such as Justin Abdelkader and former goalie Ty Conklin as well as numerous other NHL players (Dan Ellis, Matt Carle, Erik Cole, etc.)

Today, the USHL Futures Draft kicks off and SB Nation has got you covered. The guys that head up SB Nation hockey have put up a great hub for the draft and are providing some excellent coverage and analysis before the draft kicks off.

Hosts Joe Fortunato and Travis Hughes will be joined by guest analyst Justin Schreiber of the USHL Prospects Blog, as well as Chris Dilks from SBN's Western College Hockey Blog. The panel will also welcome several fantastic guests throughout the program, including USHL Commissioner Skip Prince and the top overall selection in the Futures Draft

The draft begins at 11 AM ET and you can follow all of the action over at the USHL Draft hub.
