*NHL.com doesn't have the game stats from Chicago's game Wednesday against the Lightning. Turco was pulled about halfway through the game after giving up one goal (I saw it, and it was soft).

Meeting up for the 2nd time in two nights, this time the Red Wings travel to Chicago for the Blackhawks' preseason home opener, sure to feature significantly more of the Blackhawks' talent than the Red Wings faced last night. In his post-game presser, Mike Babcock referred to the Hawks' team that came to the Joe as a "kid lineup" and said that for tonight's game, he was expecting to put out his own "kiddie corps", which is my favorite Babcock phrase of the week right now. From Ansar Khan at MLive, the Kiddie Corps will look like this:

Jordan Owens-Valtteri Filppula-Todd Bertuzzi
Drew Miller-Justin Abdelkader-Francis Pare
Jamie Tardif-Cory Emmerton-Jan Mursak
Tomas Tatar-Joakim Andersson-Aaron Downey

Brad Stuart-Jonathan Ericsson
Doug Janik-Brendan Smith
Jakub Kindl-Logan Pyett

Chris Osgood
Thomas McCollum

Jordan Owens on the top line; guess fans aren't the only people who've been impressed by his preseason play. A quick aside: I wonder how many preseason games Rafalski's going to play and how his back really feels. I mean, I wouldn't expect him in there against what will be a much more stacked Hawks team tonight, but he's got to play sometime.

This game couldn't smell like more of a trap if it were being played inside a windowless van with the words "FREE PUPPIES" hastily spraypainted on the side.
