Detroit gets another crack at an opponent from that tough (well, for the East) Atlantic Division today as they take on the NY Rangers. The Rangers released Wade Redden (D) yesterday so now they are down to just one mindbogglingly horrible contract (Boogaard). As the usual with preseason, both teams will field a mixture of their NHL and AHL squads. Per the Khaninator, Detroit will field this team:
Forwards: Justin Abdelkader, Dan Cleary, Pavel Datsyuk, Patrick Eaves, Ilari Filppula, Darren Helm, Tomas Holmstrom, Jiri Hudler, Jamie Johnson, Kirk Maltby, Mattias Ritola, Henrik Zetterberg
Defensemen: Jakub Kindl, Niklas Kronwall, Nicklas Lidstrom, Brian Rafalski, Ruslan Salei, Brad Stuart
Goaltenders: Jimmy Howard, Jordan Pearce
Puck drops at 5:00 p.m. ET and the game will air on FS Detroit and you know what? We'll be live-blogging so join us.
