Welcome to Red Wings hockey in November. We're going to pretend the last couple of weeks didn't happen, ok? The Wings will play their third game of the season against the Wild to this point with a 1-1-0 record against the Northwestern foes. The big news is that Fabian Brunnstrom has cleared waivers and been sent down to Grand Rapids while Gustav Nyquist will get his NHL debut tonight. As Bill Roose points out, Nyquist will be playing on a line with Todd Bertuzzi and Johan Franzen while Jiri Hudler sits.
Additionally, Emmerton and Commodore are also scratches tonight. Here's what we think the lineup will look like (per Ansar Kahn):
Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmstrom
Nyquist-Franzen-Bertuzzi
Cleary-Filppula-Abdelkader
Miller-Helm-Eaves
Lidstrom-White
Kronwall-Kindl
Ericsson-Stuart
Nyquist will also go on the 2nd power play unit, which is expected to have a new look tonight.Josh Harding only ever starts against Detroit. Apparently, it's in his contract or something.
Comment away and Let's Go Red Wings!
