The Kings are a trapped and injured wild animal. The Wings welcome them into their territory and will try to finish them off. There are fewer games scarier than against a team that's much better than their record facing what could be even more drastic organizational changes if they don't start playing close to their expectations. The last time the Wings did this, they cruised past a struggling Flames team. They'll be challenged with doing it against an even better Kings squad.
A win for the Kings tonight maybe puts them back on track; it maybe gets them the confidence they need to scratch and claw their way back into the playoff hunt. A loss sets them back one more level and makes the climb that much harder. The team Detroit faces tonight will be desperate. Their intensity will be strong.
It's going to take a full 60 minute effort by Detroit to win this one.
Comment away and let's go Red Wings.
