The Wings continue their late-night stand-up comedy tour with a trip to Disneyland (coincidentally, where I will be in 2 weeks) to take on the Ducks. The Wings have had their way with the Ducks this year, ripping off 3 straight wins and looking for season sweep tonight. Dan Ellis is in net for the Ducks, and if you're a Twitter geek, then you'll know that the fact Tomas Holmstrom had burritos for his pre-game nap is just the latest #DanEllisProblem.
It's another late start, but the last time these teams squared off, the game was completed in just a little over 2 hours, so here's hoping the Wings don't waste any time getting the win tonight. The Wings will be looking for their seventh straight road victory after whooping up on the Kings the other night.
Some lineup notes for the Wings: Patrick Eaves (groin) and Brian Rafalski (back spasms) are still out, but Rafalski might be ready for Thursday's game against the Sharks. On a positive note, Johan Franzen returns to the team after the birth of his first son, Eddie Bo Johan Franzen (this is not a typo: that's his name). Justin Abdelkader takes his seat in the Leino Lounge tonight as a healthy scratch. For the Ducks, no Jonas Hiller or Saku Koivu, and Corey Perry may not be available due to a "lower body injury", but I'm sure his gyno will have him good to go for this tilt.
It's another late night, so welcome to "WIIM After Dark", where our only rule is to keep it classy.
