Putting on my Retirement Monocle

Over the past few months, you may have noticed a diminished presence from me. Throughout the course of the season I struggled to find a balance between the blog and personal/school life. That really pulled at me and I hated not being able to give my undivided attention to the site. With that said, the time has come for me to step away from Winging It In Motown.

Yes, that's right, I will be going to the blogger retirement community where the basements are dark, the underwear is fresh and the sources are always wrong.

This is a decision that I've flipped flopped on over and over because it's such a hard thing to walk away from. I absolutely love this community and everything that it has become. Oddly enough, that is one of the reasons I've decided to step down. With the job I just started, I've quickly learned that the free time that I used to have will be minimal and I absolutely do not want to go into another season and just be invisible.

Knowing that the site will be in the very capable hands of JJ made the decision a lot easier. I have the utmost faith that he (along with Graham, Jeff, Josh, and Robocop) will continue to take the site in the right direction. My departure is going to be final and I will not be staying on as an author or anything of that sort. I will still stop by for game threads and things like that, but my writing here is done.

I don't really want to sit here and toot my own horn for a single second about the site. Instead, I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for making this an incredible experience for me. Some of you I have known since the 08-09 season (hi, Tulo!) while others I have just gotten to know over the course of the most recent playoff run. Either way, I've enjoyed getting to know you all and it's been a great experience.

Again, thank you all for everything and as always, Let's Go Red Wings.
