Quick Hits: White, Drury, and another 'Yotes Buyer?

New, comments
  • Greg Wyshynski has a roundup of all the new rules tested at last week's Research & Development Camp and some of these actually sound pretty good (shallower nets, verification line, HD camera inside nets, clear plastic plank across top of net).  Be sure to give it all a read, it's worth it. [Puck Daddy]
  • The Kings signed Etahn Moreau over the weekend to a pretty standard 1 year, $1 million contract.  The 35 year old left winger should add some experience to a young team with his 15 years of NHL play. [Jewels From The Crown]
  • Via Malik, Lyle Richardson of The Hockey News believes that Jiri Hudler is our top candidate to be traded and that we have already tried to do so.  Nothing new for the Wings camps but this is the first time I have seen a non-Red Wings centric source pick up on this. [The Hockey News via The Malik Report]
  • John Kreiser lists Ian White as one of the top newcomers expected to make an impact, even suggesting that he is being counted on to be our #2 defenseman.  With most Wings fans having him penciled in as the #5 guy in the lineup, is this just a case of a national columnist not having total insight into a single team or do you believe White really stands a chance of being our #2 guy on the blue line? [NHL.com]
  • Chris Drury retired on Friday.  I may be alone in this sentiment due to his affiliation with the Avs during our rivalry, but Drury has always been one of my favorites.  It's sad to see his career end the way it did. [Winging It In Motown Fanshot]
  • As posted by uvgt2bkdnme, "Former CEO and President of the San Jose Sharks Greg Jamison is attempting to purchase the Phoenix Coyotes."  Keep in mind that this is the 53rd person to step forward and attempt to buy the team and any attempt to get public assistance to keep the team in Glendale, AZ, will likely be met with fierce resistance again from watchdog groups.  I have been unable to find anything saying whether or not Jamison would keep the team in Arizona or not.
