Today we've got an (almost) nationally-broadcast game on our hands, as the Blackhawks send their B-team into Detroit to tussle with a Red Wings scrimmage squad built of both Red and White components
Here's the Blackhawks' lineup according to their website:
FORWARDS 12 Beach 29 Bickell 13 Carcillo 67 Frolik 39 J. Hayes 16 Kruger 72 LeBlanc 22 Mayers 23 McLean 37 Pirri 43 Saad 28 Smith 25 Stalberg |
DEFENSE 56 Connelly 46 Lavin 8 Leddy 20 Lepisto 5 Montador 34 Olsen |
GOALTENDERS 30 Emery 53 Salak |
Also according to their website, a fun fact:
Forward Ben Smith scored his first career NHL on Apr. 8, 2011 in Detroit.
Damn you, Ben Smith! We'll get you for scoring your first career NHL against us!
Expected lineup for the Wings is as follows:
Filppula-Zetterberg-Franzen
Miller-Abdelkader-Bertuzzi
Nyquist-Emmerton-Brunnstrom
Conner-Andersson-Mursak
Lidstrom-White
Ericsson-Kindl
Smith-Commodore
Conklin
McCollum
This is most of the White team lineup, but notable changes are that Miller is on the 2nd line in place of Helm (with Abdelkader moving to center) - Emmerton and Brunnstrom will play to get a longer look, as will Conner and Mursak. On the defensive side, the Brendan Smith-Mike Commodore pairing joins to make what could be a full NHL-caliber defense.
