Game Day Updates: Wings vs Sabres

New, comments
Bruce Bennett

Hey, have you heard the news? Red Wings hockey is back!

Looks like there are no changes to the Wings lineup that Jeff posted in the Morning Skate, so our lines should look like this.

Forwards
Henrik Zetterberg Pavel Datsyuk Justin Abdelkader
Johan Franzen Stephen Weiss Daniel Alfredsson
Daniel Cleary Joakim Andersson Todd Bertuzzi
Drew Miller Cory Emmerton Mikael Samuelsson

Defense
Niklas Kronwall Jonathan Ericsson
Danny DeKeyser Jakub Kindl
Brendan Smith Kyle Quincey

Goalies
Jimmy Howard
Petr Mrazek

The Practice Power Play units were:

Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Franzen

Kronwall-Alfredsson

-------and-------

Cleary-Weiss-Bertuzzi

Kindl-Samuelsson

Fun Facts

Daniel Alfredsson has 84 points (42G, 42A) in 89 games against the Sabres, that's his second highest point and goal total against any NHL team. Maybe he'll be out good luck charm.

Kyle Quincey is 2 points away from 100, so it will probably take him 3/4 of the season to notch those 2 points. (If I just anti-jinxed him, you're welcome)

Oh, and Brad Watson is a referee tonight. You've been warned.

Sabres Lines

Forwards

Thomas Vanek Cody Hodgson Drew Stafford
Steve Ott Tyler Ennis Ville Leino
Zemgus Girgensons Mikhail Grigorenko Brian Flynn
Kevin Porter Cody McCormick Patrick Kaleta

Defense

Christian Ehrhoff Mark Pysyk
Henrik Tallinder Tyler Myers
Mike Weber Rasmus Ristolainen

Goalies

Ryan Miller
Jhonas Enroth

The Sabres lineup will include two 19 year old kids (Girgensons and Grigorenko) and a 18 yr old (Ristolainen) which brings the Sabres average roster age down to 26.8 yrs, and makes the Red Wings' average of 29.6 sound soooo oooold, because the Wings are soooo ooold. That's how this works, right?

So ditch those pants, prepare your vocal chords, grab a beverage of choice, and prepare yourselves for this most joyous occasion.

Let's Go Red Wings!!!
