We won... two games in a row... in overtime and a shootout.. What is this sorcery? There's more good news coming as well, because it looks like Gustav Nyquist will return to the lineup tonight, and Darren Helm and Justin Abdelkader will be re-evaluated this morning and may return tonight as well. One more win before Christmas would about the best present the Wings could give us right now. The last time the Wings and Islanders met, we beat them 5-0, ended a Darren helm injured his shoulder on the flying, crashing, flipping, shorthanded goal he scored; now he looks to make his return against them.

The Islanders lost at home 5-3 to the Ducks on Saturday and have only won 2 games out of their last 16. With the Wings getting a few players back from injury, and the boost of confidence they have after winning a couple games, they should beat the Islanders in what could potentially be a pretty boring game.

We'll have to put our prognosticating hat on for the lineup, Nyquist wasn't on IR, and with his returning, someone else will be a healthy scratch, If Helm and Abby return, since they were both on IR, two players will need to be sent back to Grand Rapids. I'm going to guess that if Helm plays, then Glendening gets sent to Grand Rapids. I'm going to guess that Tootoo sits so Nyquist can come back in, and I can only hope that Cleary sits for Abdelkader to come back in. We'll put the updated lineup in the Game Day Updates once we know more. Here's my guess/wish as to what we see tonight.
