Hoggan Leads Griffins to 4-2 Win Over Crunch
Captain Jeff Hoggan rose to the occasion and scored a goal and an assist in the third period to lead the Grand Rapids Griffins to within a game of a Calder Cup Championship with a 4-2 victory over the visiting Syracuse Crunch. The Griffins recovered from an early deficit and the loss of Adam Almquist to rally back and take a commanding 3-0 series lead. Tomas Tatar (13), Luke Glendening (6), Jan Mursak (10) and Hoggan (5) scored for the Grand Rapids. Rookie netminder Petr Mrazek made 26 saves to record his 14 win of the postseason.
