Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Detroit Red Wings

Joe Louis Arena - Detroit, MI

Television: NHLN, FSD+

Just because your team plays eight preseason games doesn't mean they have to do so against more than four opponents. Tonight the Red Wings finish their preseason home-and-home against the Pittsburgh Penguins. When these teams met on Monday the 16th, the Red Wings came away with a 4-1 victory off the strength of two power play goals by defenseman Adam Almquist Almqvist Almqvuist Almondwrist Alarmist... that Adam guy.

Tonight, with both teams icing a more NHL-ready roster, the teams head to the Joe to do battle again. With Jonas Gustavsson out and Jimmy Howard not needed to play 80% of games during preseason, the Wings will start Petr Mrazek in net tonight (guaranteeing that at least one team will have an NHL-caliber goalie in net for this one.)

Here are the lineups:

Johan Franzen Stephen Weiss Justin Abdelkader
Gustav Nyquist Joakim Andersson Tomas Tatar
Drew Miller Cory Emmerton Mikael Samuelsson
Daniel Cleary Riley Sheahan Todd Bertuzzi

Kyle Quincey Brendan Smith
Danny DeKeyser Xavier Ouellet
Adam Almqvist Brian Lashoff

Petr Mrazek
Jimmy Howard

The Wings were hoping Daniel Alfredsson might play today, but he didn't skate this morning because he's still nursing a sore groin. Jonathan Ericsson didn't skate today either because of a thigh contusion. Riley Sheahan and Xavier Ouellet were both recalled from Griffins camp today to take up spots in the roster and will likely be sent back down tomorrow.

The Penguins posted their lineup on the team site, but haven't broken it into lines yet.
