Walleye Finish Preseason with a 5-2 Loss in Kalamazoo | Toledo Walleye
Jared Coreau made 39 saves on 44 shots on goal, and Kyle Bonis and Michael Leone scored the Walleye's only goals in the loss. I wasn't able to watch the game to know why Jared Coreau faced 44 shots, but that's a lot of shots and makes me suspect that Coreau may not be at fault as much as allowing 5 goals may suggest.

Goals a given with Teemu Pulkkinen, now Griffins forward looks for complete package | MLive.com Last year's leading scorer is back, and it's not just his offense that will determine success with the Griffins this season. Becoming better defensively is key to Pulkkinen playing in the NHL, but I just hope that his gift for scoring goals isn't diminished because so much focus is placed on defense because his ability to score goals is amazing. He's in search for the balance between offense and defense and I love his always positive attitude no matter what comes his way.

Nastasiuk honoured by hometown
Attack captain Zach Nastasiuk named 2014 Barrie Athlete of the Year Not only is Zach a great player on the ice who leads by example, always leaves everything on the ice, and has a Swiss Army Knife skill set, he's one of the nicest, most thoughtful, and mature for his age young men I've ever met. He was named Captain of the Attack last year at 18 year old and it took me less than a full game to see why. It's great to see him rewarded and recognized for the impressive young man he is. "Just work hard. People might say things about you but those are just words. It starts with your work ethic and attitude and those are two things that you can control," Nastasiuk said. "If you do that, one day you will become rewarded."
