Detroit Red Wings bracing for desperate Boston Bruins, who've lost three in a row | MLive.com
A win tonight for the Wings can have a tremendous impact on their season going forward. The Bruins will already have lost four games, with the Wings having won two. I know that the season is a long one, but starting the season off on the right note, while your biggest division rival struggles, is a good long-term sign.

Grew up in Michigan, then went to the University of Michigan, and will one day play for the Detroit Red Wings. Any sound Michigander's dream.

Duff: Franzen dialed in for Wings | Windsor Star

If the Wings want to be successful this season, Franzen has to score around 30 goals, or at least at a 30 goal pace.

Red Wings' fourth line off to good start as Mike Babcock wants team to be 'a pain to play against' | MLive.com

I was really impressed by Joakim Andersson's play against the Bruins, and Glendening was able to score a goal, which is always a plus. If this line, which also includes Drew Miller, can continue to develop some chemistry, we might have found ourselves a little depth gem!

Undefeated Islanders score four in third period, top reeling Rangers | TSN
In our Bold Predictions post, I predicted that John Tavares would win the Hart Trophy. Through the Islanders' first three games of the season, Tavares has scored two goals and five assists. J.J., the way things are going, we may have a new champion this season.

Gretzky not joining NHL team anytime soon - Sportsnet.ca
Some people are naturals when it comes to the business side of sports. Steve Yzerman, Jiri Fischer, and Ken Holland are all examples of this. However, this is not the case for everybody. Gretzky was a phenomenal player, but, just because he was great on the ice, does not mean that he would be equally great off the ice.

Florida Panthers attendance woes are not a cause for celebration - SBNation.com
Really interesting article. The Panthers horrendous attendance hurts not only the organization, but the NHL as a whole. I agree that the franchise should be relocated, because it is clearly not working out in Florida. But, in the meantime, the Panthers have to try and figure out something that will fill at least portions of the arena. Seeing an arena with nearly every seat empty is simply an abomination.

Boston is somehow going to continue their terrible start and end up winning the draft lottery.

Sutter thinks Hall is arguably NHL’s top left winger | ProHockeyTalk
Mr. Sutter, we will have to agree to disagree. If we can classify Zetterberg as a left winger, I would want him (if we are not talking about age) over Hall ten times out of ten.

Let's Go Red Wings!
